About Nuriootpa

The historic town of Nuriootpa is recognised as the business and commercial heart of the Barossa Valley. It is the tourist and service centre for the famous grape and wine area which has over 150 wineries and cellar doors surrounded by vineyards.

 

Nuriootpa can be considered a foodie’s dream it is home to some of the best culinary experiences in the Barossa. Loosen your belt buckle and pull up a seat at the table of one of Australia’s most celebrated cooks at Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop.  

 

Walk down the main street and explore boutique shops and cafes or have a break from the Barossa vinos (if you can bear it)
and taste craft spirits infused with local botanicals at the Barossa Distilling Company’s tasting room and bar. You can then venture to Provenance to sample a smorgasbord of regional produce being perfectly paired with Barossa wines, gin and beer or feast on
wood-fired pizzas from Ember Pizza. Penfolds Barossa Cellar Door is also here so you can cheers to a day well spent with
a glass or two of their wine.

Amongst all of this are numerous fine dining restaurants, international cuisine and country pub meals Nuriootpa and the
Barossa Valley caters for everybody.  Including numerous surrounding cellar doors who also cater with platters of local
produce for a fine wine experience.  Art galleries, craft stores and farmers market are on offer for those wishing to purchase
the local produce and local souvenirs.

 

Scenic drives throughout the Nuriootpa township and Barossa Valley surrounds will take you on a scenic tour past the numerous churches of old and new, plentiful vineyards and orchards, meandering creeks and wineries galore!

Nuriootpa Centennial Park which includes tourist park and is also home to the Nuriootpa Tigers Football & Netball Clubs, Nuriootpa Tennis Club and Barossa United Soccer Club  facilities plus function centre and scout hall.  The town also has the Nuriootpa War Memorial Swimming Pool a solar heated 6 lane 50 metre pool directly adjacent the Nuriootpa Bowling Club greens.
